    Swansea University Student’s Union would like to welcome you to the official Swansea University Freshers’ Fortnight of 2014! #SUF14

    We’ve got loads of events lined up to make your first weeks in Swansea something you’ll never forget, giving you a chance to create long lasting memories and friends for life! 

    We kick things off during our welcome weekend, where we help you settle in to your new life at Swansea. Our staff will be on hand at the arrivals marquee to provide you with all the information you need to make moving in that little bit easier!

    All of our events are included in the Official Freshers’ Wristband package, which will be available from www.swansea-union.co.uk – these go on sale from the 1st of September!

    Along with our basic package, we also offer Gold and Platinum upgrades. Gold will give you entry to all our big events throughout the year; from Snow Ball to AniBall, and Varsity to the Summer Ball! 

    With Platinum, you’ll get entry to ALL our events throughout the year. That’s right, all our weekly sessions and main events are included in one package, meaning that you’re sorted for events for the year! 
    Freshers’ Wristband -£50 – ALL Freshers’ Events!

    Gold Package - £125 – ALL Main Events, including Halloween Ball, Snow Ball, AniBall, St.David’s Day Event, Varsity and the Summer Ball!
    Platinum Package - £200 – ALL Events, including ALL Main Events and ALL Weekly sessions!

    So, here is our Freshers’ Fortnight schedule so far. We’ll be updating this page with more events as we come closer to the date, so click ‘attending’ on the event, and you’ll be notified with our updates!

    || Friday 19th September ||
    *Tooters Welcome Weekend*
    Our infamous Friday night is the perfect way to celebrate your first night at Swansea University. Held at our on-campus nightclub - Diva’s, Tooters has long been a staple of our weekly sessions. The concept is simple; it’s 2 drinks for £2 all night! The music policy is wide open, meaning that we play what student’s love to build a party atmosphere like no other. It’s the place where memories are made, you’ll never forget “This one time at Tooters”!

    *Monsters of Rock*
    If Rock, Metal and Pop Punk are your scene, Monsters is the perfect night for you! Sin City, our city centre venue plays host to a night of Pop Punk, Rock classics and Heavy Metal anthems ranging all the way from AC/DC and Iron Maiden to Fall Out Boy and Foo Fighters! The DJs are request-friendly, and there’s drinks deal across the board. ‘Monsters’ is by far the best alternative way to spend your first night in Swansea!

    *The Wonky Sheep Welcome*
    If you’re at the Student Village and you fancy an alternative, why not pop over to your new local for the evening! The Wonky Sheep is located above the laundrette opposite the Spar, and is the perfect place to meet some new people in a more relaxed environment. The bar is well stocked, and drinks are very affordable, you could even pop in before heading to Tooters on campus! The Wonky is open all day and serves a range of teas and coffees and soft drinks, feel free to come and take a break from moving in to your new residence. They’ve got pool, darts and sport on the screens, so pop in and get acclimatised to your village local!

    || Saturday 20th September||
    *Sink or Sin*
    A collaboration of two of our biggest brands sees off Saturday night, as Sin Savers comes up against Sink with Sin City being the battleground. Sin Savers is our Thursday night session, focused on all the student sing-along anthems and party tracks that we all know and love, with drinks prices that leave you counting your change with glee at the end of the night! 
    Sink as a brand has taken over Sin City’s Saturday nights, playing host to the likes of Wilkinson, Bondax, SiGMA, B.Traits and the legendary David Rodigan MBE. With Sink, the focus is solely based on dance music, ranging from House to Drum & Bass!
    On this night, both brands meet for a party that has Sin Savers censored drinks prices right through till 4AM!

    *Welcome to Diva’s*
    Diva’s provides you with the perfect meeting point on a Saturday night to catch up with friends as well as meet new people from your halls and your course. With party anthems as the playlist and affordable drinks, we welcome you to Diva’s to continue your first weekend in Swansea.

    || Sunday 21st September ||
    *ResNet Presents: Fresh & Free*
    To top off your first weekend at Swansea, we come together at our marquee on Fulton House lawn for one big party. Wear your halls T-Shirts with pride whether you’re from the Student Village and Woodside or one of our Campus blocks. You can grab a drink from our main bar, or treat yourself to a bomb from our Bomb Bar! Buses are free and provided from the Student Village to ensure that no one misses out. No matter what the year, Freshers always regard this night as the biggest of the fortnight. It’s a chance to meet all your new classmates and bond with your housemates while having a great night in the process!

    || Monday 22nd September || (Fundraiser for Swansea University Students Union)
    *Welcome to Wind Street*
    It’s time to make your way down Swansea’s strip for a night that will introduce you to the bars and venues on the infamous Wind Street! With your Freshers’ Wristband you’ll gain entry to all our associated bars and venues – it’s the perfect way to get to grips with the place!

    || Tuesday 23rd September ||
    *Freshers’ Fayre*
    Our campus marquee plays host to the Freshers’ Fayre throughout the day, and it’s your chance to explore the University’s societies and sports teams. While it’s a chance to join in with like-minded people doing the things you love, it’s also an opportunity to create and gain experiences that can be enjoyable and beneficial! All under one roof, take your time to check out all the stalls in the marquee so that you don’t miss a thing!

    *JC’s Open Mic Night*
    On Tuesday, we go to JC’s Bar on campus for our Open Mic Night. If you fancy yourself as a performer, get in touch and sign up!

    *Tight Ass Tuesdays*
    Its back to Diva’s for our brand new weekly session that’s all about Hip-Hop, R’n’B and Old Skool anthems. You can get involved through the ‘Snoopify’ app, and set it to us via our Twitter and Facebook pages! We’ll be running competitions to win T.A.T merchandise and more – keep an eye out for the posters around campus and send us your snaps! Drinks range from offers on selected bottles, to our themed bomb menu including the Snoop Bomb (Gin & Juice) and the Beenie Bomb (Rum & Red Bull). Keep an eye out for our promo team on campus for more info!

    || Wednesday 24th September||
    *Freshers Fayre*
    Here’s another opportunity to explore the Freshers’ Fayre, join new societies and get involved with sport at Swansea. It’s also another chance to engage with all our associated businesses and grab loads of freebies!


    *360 Sports Day* 

    Fancy taking part in a range of free beach sport activities down at the 360 center located on Oystermouth Road from 15:00 - 19:00. There are multiple workshops, mini coaching sessions or simply the chance to pick up a volley ball take over a court ! not only that but there will be one-off student offers in the 360 Cafe with live music as well !! 

    *Skool Disco* (Fundraiser for Swansea University Students Union)
    Go back to skool, get your fancy dress at the ready and grab your ticket for our annual Skool Disco! Included in the wristband, your ticket will send you to our associated city centre venues as you party with all your new classmates. This one’s another Freshers’ flagship event that we bring to you every year!

    ||Thursday 25th September||
    *Sin Savers Launch Party*
    It’s back to Sin City as we launch another year of Sin Savers! Our established Thursday night is one that you’ll most definitely come to love during your time at Swansea. Sin Savers is a student night that will not only leave you singing and dancing for days after, but will leave you happily counting your change at the end of the night! Have you ever gone out and not been able to listen to the music you wanted? Have you ever gone out and not been able to dress the way you want? Have you ever gone out and not got change from your £10 note? The answer is finally here... “You Should Have Gone To Sin Savers!” We hope that like the recent class of 2014, you’ll be graduating from Sin Savers at the end of your time at Swansea.

    ||Friday 26th of September|| (Fundraiser for Swansea University Students Union)
    *The Freshers’ Ball 2014 – Featuring Special Guests*
    The 26th of September is a day to remember, as we host the Freshers’ Ball in the Marquee on Fulton House lawn. We end the first week of Freshers’ in style, with your first opportunity to suit up or get your best dress, making a night you’ll never forget. Last year we had performances from Ella Eyre, John Newman and Swiss Lips... We’ll be announcing this year’s guests closer to the date!
    There’s no better way to celebrate the start of your university life than this, as you create lasting memories and life-long friends! We’ve got a whole host of acts performing on the night as well as two bars, the infamous bomb bar and free photo booths for you and your friends to capture the night. The Freshers’ Ball truly is the celebration of your start at Swansea, and the best welcome to the beginnings of your life at the university-by-the-sea!

    *Tooters – The Freshers’ Ball After Party*
    As we close the Freshers’ Ball we head up to Diva’s for the after party. Just like the Friday before, Tooters a wide range of party anthems that will keep the night going! It’s all about 2 drinks for £2, and another chance to say “This One Time at Tooters”!

    *Monsters of Rock – The Alternative Freshers’ Ball After Party*
    If you’re after an alternative ending to the night, make sure you join Monsters at Sin City for another night of Rock, Metal and Pop-Punk. The DJs are request friendly, which makes for a great atmosphere if you’re after one of those anthems you love! With drinks deals across the board, it’ll be a great way to end a memorable night!

    ||Saturday 27th September|| (Fundraiser for Swansea University Students Union)
    *Sink Presents: Featuring Special Guests*
    Hold tight for one of the biggest nights of Freshers’ as Sink Swansea take over the Freshers’ marquee. Featuring very special guests from the world of dance music, Sink’s resident DJs enter into a soundclash, with styles ranging from Reggae and Dancehall to House, Garage, Techno and Drum & Bass. The night will feature a spectacular production of smoke, lasers, lights, strobes and plenty of bass! Sink’s past guests have included the likes of SiGMA, Wilkinson, Bondax, DJ Zinc, B.Traits & Dismantle, Shy FX, Toddla T and loads more. Last year, Sink’s Saturday nights were among the most memorable, and now they look to bring their show to their biggest stage yet!

    The theme of the night is Black & White, and we follow the event with an after party at Sink’s original home – Sin City!
    *Sink Presents: The After Party at Sin City*
    The night continues as Sink moves swiftly from the marquee on Fulton House lawn back to where it all began – Sin City. Join the team as they keep the party vibes going until 4AM, with Sink’s resident DJs providing the soundtrack. As with all our nights drinks are affordable, Sink’s £8-a-round gets you any 4 at the venue, giving you the best ending to the big night.

    ||Sunday 28th September||
    *Tony Lee the Hypnotist*
    Tony Lee returns to Swansea with his hilarious and close to the bone hypnosis stage show. This is seriously not one to miss as you watch your new found friends mysteriously opt to get on stage and take part in some outrageous stage games with no recollection! Not for the feint hearted, this event will have you in stitches as Tony dishes out his banana’s, squirty cream and of course, Tequila! This one is a true highlight of Freshers’!

    ||Monday 29th September||
    *Freshbook* (Fundraiser for Swansea University Students Union)
    Our infamous annual Freshbook event takes over a number of our associated venues in the city centre. Grab your T-Shirt, a pen, get creative and update your status or use a hash tag to take over your mates’ if you fancy! Like the Skool Disco, this event is a staple of our Freshers’ calendar and it never disappoints. Your allocated venue includes a pre bar to meet up with friends before heading to your destination, where you’ll end another memorable Swansea night!

    ||Tuesday 30th September||
    *JC’s Open Mic Night*
    It’s another chance to join in a night of live music at JC’s bar on campus. Whether you’re a singer, songwriter or even fancy yourself as a poet. Sign up through our Live Music team and give it a go.

    *Tight Ass Tuesdays*
    T.A.T returns to Diva’s for another session bringing you the best in Hip-Hop, R’n’B and Old Skool tracks. Again you can join in through the ‘Snoopify’ app and send us your snaps to be in with a chance of winning some great giveaways. The emphasis is on party vibes all night, and we’ve tailored the drinks to fit the theme of the night, including offers on selected bottles and bombs ranging from the Snoop Bomb (Gin & Juice) to the Beenie Bomb (Rum & Red Bull)!

    ||Wednesday 1st October|| (Fundraiser for Swansea University Students Union)
    *Game of Freshers’*
    Brace yourselves...
    #SUF14 is coming, including a live PA and DJ set from one of the stars of the show – Finn Jones! It’s all about house pride, as we challenge you to come up with your best fancy dress and best flag to compete against your rival houses. We meet at King’s Landing (disclosed venue) to register; the winner will take the Iron Throne! 

    ||Thursday 2nd October||
    *Sin Savers*
    It’s time for another Sin Savers! Once again we head to Sin City for our established Thursday night session. They play the tracks you won’t hear anywhere else, with two rooms of great vibes and an atmosphere like no other! Sin Savers is all about having a great night, no matter who you are or what you do. Always remember, “You should’ve gone to Sin Savers!” Join in the discussion on twitter by tweeting @SinCitySwansea with the hash tag #SinSavers. We’ll be running competitions throughout the week, so make sure to keep an eye on our social media!

    ||Friday 3rd October||
    As we enter the final weekend of Freshers’ 2014, Diva’s plays host to another session of Tooters. As always, it’s a laidback party atmosphere on campus with 2 drinks for £2 all night. It’s a night that you’ll be more than accustomed to; don’t forget “this one time at Tooters!”

    *Monsters of Rock*
    Another alternative Friday is upon us as we head to Sin City for Monsters! Once again the team take you through the best in Pop-Punk, Rock & Metal – from AC/DC and Iron Maiden to Fall Out Boy and Foo Fighters. With great drinks deals all night, this is definitely the place to spend the last Friday of Freshers’ if you’re a lover of the alternative!

    ||Saturday 4th October||
    *Sink Presents: Jaguar Skills & Friends*
    Sink Swansea returns to its home at Sin City after the massive Sink Presents at the marquee the week before. This week, their special guest will be the awesome Jaguar Skills! Jaguar Skills’ shows are always incredible, with his eclectic, multi-genre, cut-n-paste style DJ mixes gaining notoriety through outlets like BBC Radio 1 and 1 Extra. Once again Sink’s resident DJs provide the warm up to the performance, with the team bringing you everything from House and Garage, to Drum & Bass and Dubstep. Sink’s shows never disappoint, and the party vibes go on until 4AM!

    Don’t forget, wristbands go on sale from the 1st of September, and there’s even more events to be added to this list! Get ready for #SUF14
